How
long does permanent makeup last?
The treatment is permanent and will not wash off,
however, it will soften over time, and may need a
retouch every couple years. Generally the darker
the color the longer the pigment will remain in the
skin. Outer elements and skin care products can
fade or break down the pigment, these are things to
discuss with your technician.
Does the procedure hurt?
Comfort levels vary from person to person.
Topical anesthetics are used before and during the
procedure to numb and provide comfort. Most
clients feel nothing and are completely numb, but some
describe the feeling as a "tingling" or "tweezing" type
sensation. The benefits far outweigh any
discomfort you may experience.
How long will it take to
recover and will I miss work?
At most you will have a little bit of
swelling with the eyebrows and lips. Eyeliner
does tend to swell a bit more, giving you the
appearance as though you have been crying. I
would take the day off for eyeliner, due to the edema
swelling, but all other procedures will only feel like
a slight sunburn. All procedures require ice the
day of, for swelling (I prefer to use a small bag of
frozen peas). You will be given a tube of
Aquaphor ointment for healing.
Can my permanent makeup be
removed?
If you choose an experienced technician, you
should not have to worry about this. I personally
am extremely conservative in the initial application of
pigment. Every client will return in 4-6 weeks
for a touch-up, if at this time you decide to go darker
or thicker it can be done. There are plenty of
skin care products containing ingredients that will
encourage fading of permanent cosmetics, if so desired.
What colors are available?
There is an abundance of pigments to choose
from. The color availability will depend upon
your natural skin tone. We, together, will choose
a customized pigment color that will naturally
compliment your skin tone and hair color.
